Description
Inside the stylish seat
The toilet room is elegantly furnished with just a sturdy porcelain seat. And the ingenuity itself is under the floor: a rotating four-litre Ekolet composting tank.
The electrically ensured air circulation keeps the toilet completely odourless. The fan power can be adjusted and can also be installed to work with a solar panel. If the shower is in the same room, a steam vent at the roofline should be connected to the compost tank lid.
The tank has filtered intermediate floors with an evaporation level for the liquids and a bottom basin for biological purification of the liquids.
Uniquely easy to maintain
Every year or so, when the tray is full, a light layer of mulch is applied and a new tray is rolled out. The four compartments allow for a sufficiently long period of natural composting, so that the 100% composted nutrient-rich soil that is emptied can be applied directly to the plants.
A full tray will yield about 150 litres of soil. In the evaporation and sedimentation basins, the biologically treated liquid is discharged to the on-site greywater system for further treatment.
Long-lived and nature-friendly
The Ekolet Anna indoor composting toilet for the home has a simple and reliable design. There are no parts that would prevent the use of the toilet if it were to break or become blocked.
Thanks to the vertical design, the floor area required is small. The compost toilet also effectively removes radon gas by improving ventilation of the house floor.
The toilet is made of durable and long-lasting materials. The plastic parts are made of polyethylene plastic, the metal parts are made of stainless or hot-dip galvanised steel and the metal wheels are made of aluminium. The Ekolet Anna toilet has a 20-year frame warranty from the date of purchase.

Technical specifications

Total volume | 2000 litres (four-litre) |
Height | 215 cm |
Diameter | 123 cm |
Weight | 160 kg |
Space requirements for the porcelain seat and compost bin
The toilet room will have a sturdy porcelain seat in white. It has a width of 357 mm, a height of 400 mm and a seat height of approx. 440 mm.
A vertical connecting pipe runs from the porcelain seat to the compost container under the floor. The diameter of the compost bin is 1230 mm, the distance between the centre of the connecting pipe (inner diameter ø 200 mm, outer diameter ø 206 mm) and the centre of the compost bin is 350 mm, 230 mm from the rear edge of the seat and 290 mm from the front edge. The porcelain seat is 357 mm wide and 400 mm high. The seat height is 440 mm.

Under the floor of the toilet room there must be a space for a compost container of at least 130 cm x 130 cm (125 cm x 125 cm is the absolute minimum) and at least 215 cm in height. The space must be heated and have a floor well. There must be access to the side of the composter for emptying.
The composter is mounted on the floor on four steel legs. The total volume of the compost container is a convincing 2000 litres. The maximum total weight of the composter is 1400 kg and the normal, normal operating weight is 700-800 kg. The composter parts fit through a 60 cm wide door.
Each compartment has its own discharge hatch on the side of the continuously rotating composter. Emptying is most easily done with a smaller than normal field shovel. A full compost locker produces about 150 litres of fertiliser to be applied directly to the plants.
Installation with two seats
It is also possible to connect two seats to the compost bin, which fill different compartments. In this case, the distance between the centres of the drainage pipes is 700 mm (opposite compartments) or 485 mm (adjacent compartments).

Ventilation
The toilet room is ventilated through the seat. If there is a shower in the same room as the toilet, the vapour extraction valve on the ceiling must be connected by a pipe to the compost tank (compost tank lid), so that the entire ventilation of the room is circulated through the compost tank. If a separate ventilation system were to be installed in the steam ventilation valve, and if it were more powerful than the ventilation of the toilet, the air could start to flow in the wrong direction, drawing the odours of the toilet into the room.
The composter’s electric fan (12V/8 W) blows air into a 100 mm diameter ventilation pipe from the composter lid to the roof at a rate of 15–30 m3 per hour. The ventilation power of the fan can be adjusted downwards if desired. The fan requires a 230 V 50-60 Hz socket in a dry indoor environment or a connection to a solar panel system.
The ventilation duct must run upwards at all times so that ventilation is gravity fed even during power cuts. The ventilation pipe should be enclosed and insulated if it runs inside the building structure
Treatment of liquids
The tank has filtered intermediate floors with an evaporation level for the liquids and a bottom tank of about 150 litres for biological purification of the liquids. Much of the liquids evaporate with efficient air circulation and the remainder, biologically purified in the purification levels, comes out from under the composter in a 19-mil hose and is discharged to the on-site greywater treatment plant.
