What if you didn’t have to empty the toilet every year? Ekolet Onni is an easy-to-use and odourless toilet that does not need electricity, water or even additives. For example, if the toilet is used by four people for about two months a year, the interval between emptying is about 2–3 years.

Convenient post-composting in bags

The easy bag solution of the Ekolet Onni composting dry toilet allows waste to drop directly into the filter fabric bag inside the toilet.

When it’s time to empty, it’s a good idea to pour a bucket of peat or mulch over the waste – then close the bag and transport it in its wheeled container to the emptying point. Tip the bag out of the container and leave it to compost. After a suitable period of time, the contents of the bag has have turned into a fertilizing soil.

Really easy post-composting

The contents of the bag are post-composted at the emptying point and no further post-composting operations are required. After the waste has transformed to a fertilizing soil, it is emptied for the plants and the bag is reused.

The toilet comes with two bags. One of them at a time in toilet use and another one in post-composting use. The bags are reusable. If the use is heavy and two bags are not enough, additional bags can be purchased as accessories.

Much of the liquids are evaporated

The air circulation and filtration system of the toilet is designed so that a large part of the liquid evaporates as the air circulates along the outer surfaces of the bag from the bottom opening up to the ventilation pipe and out to the roof. The residue, known as leachate drains along the surfaces of the bag to the bottom of the vessel, out into the liquid cup and along the outlet pipe to the liquid collection tank.

Thanks to efficient internal air circulation, the toilet room remains odor-free and always pleasant to use.

Functional also in heavy camping use

The Ekolet Onni toilet is not only suitable for summer cottage use, but also for heavy-duty use, e.g. camping sites.

During heavy use, the frequency of toilet emptying is naturally more frequent. In this case, it is a good idea to buy several bags from the start, so that the toilet waste always has time to be 100% composted. It is also worth replacing the liquid container with a larger container.

The Ekolet Onni toilet is made of durable and long-lasting materials: polyethylene plastic and stainless steel. The toilet has a 20-year frame warranty from the date of purchase.

Seat: Ekolet thermo seat. Made of durable polypropylene plastic, the seat ring and cover are hinged for easy cleaning.

The product comes with a 2 m drip tube, approx. 20 litre liquid tank and written instructions for installation and use.

The sales package contains Ekolet thermo seat and all the necessary parts and instructions, except for the air conditioning pipe. You can obtain the air duct (inside diameter 125 mm) from your nearest hardware store. For air conditioning pipe we recommend black plastic pipe. The plastic is durable and the black color heats the air inside the pipe, improving air circulation. The hat and insect net for the end of the ventilation pipe are included with the toilet. The Ekolet Onni & outhouse package includes the ventilation pipe.

Delivery

In Finland, Ekolet Onni products arrive about a week after ordering. If you prefer a specific delivery date, please let us know in that in the comment field on the checkout page when placing your order.

The driver will always call you before deliveries, so you can give more detailed driving instructions if necessary or indicate where the deliveries can be left if no one happens to be present at the destination at the time.
